To get Avarice in Last Epoch, you need to complete the Erza’s Ledger side quest during Act 2 in the Ruined Era, specifically in the Council Chambers area. Avarice is a unique pair of gloves that provides excellent early-game benefits, especially for elemental damage-based classes, making it a highly sought-after item for leveling and early progression Last Epoch Gold.
Steps to Obtain Avarice
1. Reach the Council Chambers in the Ruined Era: This is part of the main story progression in Act 2. The Council Chambers is a hub area where you will find two key NPCs: Elder Erza and Artem.
2. Start the Erza’s Ledger Quest: Talk to Elder Erza to initiate the quest. He will ask you to retrieve his ledger from his study. The ledger is located in Erza’s Library, marked on your map. You must fight through cultists and void monsters to reach and pick up the ledger.
3. Return the Ledger: The crucial choice is whom you give the ledger to after retrieving it:
- Give the ledger to Erza to receive the Avarice gloves.
- Give the ledger to Artem to get a different unique item called Gambler’s Fallacy(an amulet).
You can only obtain one of these two unique items per character, so if you want Avarice, make sure to give the ledger to Erza!
Why Choose Avarice?
1. Health Regeneration: Avarice grants life regeneration based on elemental damage dealt, which is very useful for squishy classes like Mages or Warlocks.
2. Elemental Resistance: It provides a 13% boost to elemental resistances, increasing survivability.
3. Mana and Armor: The gloves also add mana and armor, supporting mana-heavy builds and improving defense.
4. Early Game Power: These gloves significantly ease early-game grinding by improving sustain and survivability.
Additional Notes
1. If you accidentally give the ledger to Artem Last Epoch Gold for sale, you forfeit the chance to get Avarice on that character and must start a new character to obtain it.
2. Upgraded versions of Avarice, called Burning Avarice, can be found later in endgame content, so farming the quest multiple times is unnecessary.
3. The quest is straightforward and hard to miss, but the choice of whom to give the ledger to is permanent per character.
