I need to agree despite the huge downvotes. I got dragged into buy OSRS Gold Final Fantasy XIV with my pals and I really feel trapped because the housing market is bad and so is financial space. Since I can not hold my items for crafting together with the two I am paying extra for retainers they provide. And I need to keep my sub-par or I lose my home and it is incredibly difficult for one to start with. There is limit so people have to fight over them spaced. I was incredibly blessed to be in the ideal place at the ideal moment. What is there for me? No matter value.
All that is left for me to do is level other combat courses, grind eden raids every week to get gear that's simply good to make eden raids easier, or perform Ultimate raids, which merely exist to make you suffer and get a title for bragging rights (It requires some group WEEKS of effort to conquer ultimate experiences ).While grinding for equipment sounds good, I'm not permitted to sell equipment obtained from raids and dungeons. So there's literally nothing of significance for me to gain from performing. Currency generally is hardly worth it considering there's only 3 sensible uses for this: Being too lazy to craft, needing to overmeld your gear (think reinforces in RS, but it merely raises raw stats), or housing.
Melding is frustrating also because it is already pricey as hell to find the Materiea however you can outright fail the meld and ruin it. The prospect of failure is high so that I really don't feel like it's worth me trying to experiment with stat loadouts because I could do end game material just fine WITHOUT overmelding. RuneScape's economy and sense of development is simply so far better in every way. It saddens me that it still has that notoriety of being"babies MMO" because I can never get people to really give it a good shot and see non-linearity is such a good way to tackle the MMO formula. When you are made to progress in a direct line you hit walls easier and it gets dull.
There. The majority of them are leaning towards linear progression to draw into a more casual crowd, which is good for money, but boring for veterans of this genre. RS is the only MMO I am aware of that has equipment. You don't throw off equipment all the time like"oh, this ring contains +2 over this old ring." You've got special attacks, place bonuses, items that produce your abilities more powerful, etc.. I have yet to play another MMO using a gear system to play with as RuneScape. It seems just like a real RPG experience in this manner. Ironman particularly makes it interesting.
