We got married within the yard of the home I was raised in. Out of every place within the world, there's nowhere else we would've rather celebrate the perfect day. No one is ever going to be able to say they got married within the same place (unless my buddy decides to, obviously!), making that day much more special to us.
The easiest way to describe our 'theme' is rustic elegance. Since the reception is at a tent in the middle of the woods basically, I wanted our guests to seem like they were still encompassed by nature, however with small touches of class and magnificence dispersed throughout. Our color scheme was sky blue with metallics and wildflowers (there have been no specific colors of these, just light colors with a lot of greenery).
Try to help keep everything in perspective. The week before our wedding was absolute chaos. It rained each day until about one hour before the tent went up. Since the soaked ground was then covered through the tent and couldn't get dried up quickly through the sun, our reception was kind of a muddy mess. My dress, together with all of our beautiful bridesmaid gowns had mud throughout them. But are you aware of what? Not only were the elements on the big day itself beautiful, but we were encompassed by all of our family members, dancing our butts to great music, and I was finally married. It was the very best day ever. burgundy bridesmaid dresses.
