Hey everyone! With the Official League around the corner, I wanted to take a moment to share my plans for the event, my intended builds, early game strategy, and a few tips to help you maximize your league experience.

Which Build I'm Playing with POE orbs

For this league, I've decided to go with Routt2's Elemental Hit (EH) Surf Caster build. Honestly, I didn't want to spend time theorycrafting a new build this time around—I've been busy with other things, and Routt2 already has a full Path of Building (PoB) ready to go. Elemental Hit is a solid skill: it scales well, deals great damage, and is easy to gear for.

The only change I'm making to Routt2's PoB is swapping Mageblood for Headhunter because I love using Headhunter for mapping. Other than that, I'll follow the build as is. This league is more for fun for me, so while I'll still play seriously, I'm not planning on going as hard as I would in a standard league.

Why Early Game Matters

One critical point I want to emphasize is the importance of a strong early game. Day one progression—the first 12 hours or so—can make or break your league experience. Here's why:

Random Map Modifiers: Every map will have extra map mods, possibly up to +4 on tier 16 maps. This adds more damage and tankiness to monsters, making them significantly harder than usual.

Enrage on Low Life: Campaign and pinnacle bosses will now enrage at low life, gaining bonus damage and haste. Low life counts as 50% HP, so these mechanics can make fights much more dangerous.

Gauntlet Mechanics: Bosses are expected to have mechanics similar to gauntlet encounters, adding an extra layer of challenge.

All of this means day one builds must be strong in both damage and survivability. Playing a weaker build (like a standard bow or wanderer) could result in repeated deaths early on. For this reason, I chose EH Surf Caster: high damage, decent defense, max evade, and excellent scaling potential.

Alternative Builds

I briefly considered creating my own build: a Smite Gambler. While the PoB isn't finished yet, it has some interesting advantages:

Inverted Resistance: Many maps will have increased resistances due to additional map modifiers, making inverted resistance highly valuable.

Buffed Gambler Skills: Skills like Grow Accumulator received a 26% damage boost, and triple damage makes high shock or freeze easier to achieve.

Foul Oppressor Shield: Provides block cap, spell block, spell suppression, and a chance to avoid all damage from hits—a very defensive option.

The main downside of this build is its early game struggles, so I opted for the smoother progression that Surf Caster offers.

Early League Farming

Here's a quick overview of my farming strategy:

Day 1: Focus on boss rush and red alters. These give solid rewards and help establish early progression.

Transition: Once I've cleared early content, I'll move to boxes farming, which can then lead into high-value farms like Giga Blade, Giga Map Effect, Quant Scarabs, or Giga Diffard—depending on which ends up being the best.

Breach Strategy

For gearing, there are two main Breach trees I plan to use:

Claw/Dagger Tree: Focuses on creating a fractured crit or attack speed claw with tier 1 fractures. This is critical for high-damage endgame weapons.

Body Armor Tree: Prioritizes triple ES/evasion chest crafting with increased chance for body armor, fracture, and six-link. A good six-link early on can carry your damage significantly.

The approach is simple: start with the body armor tree for a solid six-link, then switch to the weapon tree for your endgame claw, and finally return to body armor crafting.

Final Thoughts with POE currency

This league is meant to be fun, so I'm keeping things light while still aiming for smooth early progression. I'll mostly play Routt2's EH Surf Caster build, but the Smite Gambler build remains an interesting alternative for those looking for something unique.

If you want to see my progress or builds in action, I'll be streaming throughout the league. And remember: early game is crucial, so pick a strong build and focus on high damage and survivability from the start.

Let me know if you have any questions, and I'll do my best to share more updates post-launch!
