The New World Closed Beta has proven a huge success on Steam, and now gamers want to know when the current trial will end and how long it will be before the full experience is available on Steam.
What is the New World Closed Beta end Date
The New World Closed Beta end date has been scheduled for August 2, 2021 on Steam.
The good news for gamers in the UK is that the New World beta is ending very late in North America, meaning that technically, it will be running an extra day in Europe.
The official New World Beta end time has been set for August 2 at 11:59M PT, or 7:59am BST on August 3.
More news is expected to be shared by the development team ahead of the final beta dates.
And for those waiting on the final game launch, Amazon has confirmed that gamers won’t be waiting long to jump back in.
The New World release date has been scheduled for August 31 on Steam and will include the full experience.
The only downside is that this week’s Closed Beta will not be saving any progress, meaning anything you achieve will not carry over into the full experience on August 31.
Amazon is also hosting an event during the New World beta which will be easy to watch on Twitch.
The Battle for the New World is ongoing, with Amazon telling gamers this week: “The New World Closed Beta has arrived and the competition is heating up.
“Watch your favourite Twitch Streamers from around the globe as they reach the shores of Aeternum and fight for control of the land. They’ll strive to complete a list of objectives to earn points for their team, constantly battling to stay at the top of the leaderboard.
“Battle for New World will run throughout the entirety of Closed Beta, from July 20 – August 2. Over that time, each Faction will be competing to make sure they emerge victorious.”
How to Play New World Closed Beta
To play the upcoming New World closed beta, there are two things that you can do. The first one is to register here and hope that you’ll be randomly selected to participate. This method does not guarantee that you’ll get in, but it is an option. The second avenue to pursue is to pre-order the game either via Steam or Amazon. If you do that, you’re guaranteed a place in the closed beta.
If you’ve pre-ordered the game via Amazon before July 17th at 11:59PM PT (6:59AM UTC), you should’ve already gotten your invite. Everyone that has made their pre-order after that cut-off date will get an invite 48 hours after order confirmation. You’ll get a Steam key that you’ll have to redeem through your Steam library. Those of you that have made the pre-order via Steam will automatically get the closed beta in their library. So, might as well do it directly on Steam if you haven’t already.
How Long Does The New World Closed Beta Last?
The New World Closed Beta kicks off on July 20 2021, with the test lasting until August 2. It gives players a two-weeks to dive into the beta and test out the levelling process, quests, crafting, housing, and other features.
If you are wondering what time the New World Closed Beta kicks off, we believe it will be at 9 am PT. The start time coincides with Amazon’s dev stream to celebrate the Beta’s launch on July 30. We will update the beta’s launch time when it’s confirmed.
PVP modes: Outpost Rush and War
New World sets itself apart from other MMORPGs thanks to its emphasis on PVP combat. The two major instanced PVP modes are called Outpost Rush and War.
Outpost Rush is an endgame 20v20 battle where teams must coordinate and balance their time gathering resources, building up their outposts, capturing objectives, and defeating enemy players. Each team will start in their own fort on opposite sides of the map and vie for control of three outposts: Luna, Sol, and Astra. Each outpost can be captured by standing inside its capture point. You gain points for holding outposts and killing enemy players. The first team to 1,000 points wins.
There are many ways to turn the tide of battle in Outpost Rush, so don't give up if your team starts to fall behind. You can access Outpost Rush once you hit level 60.
Player-run organizations, called companies, can attack Undermined Territories. An Underminded Territory is when an opposing Faction has performed a sufficient number of PVP Faction Missions, raising their own Influence and reducing the controlling Faction's Influence.
When a Faction goes to war in a Territory, a Company that has contributed at least 10% of the total influence required to throw the territory into conflict is chosen through a lottery system to become the Vanguard, and the Governor of the Vanguard may select members of that company to participate in 50v50 combat. If there are insufficient numbers in a Company to fill out the ranks of the Vanguard, the Governor may choose from anyone in the Faction, or from volunteers from the third Faction.
The actual combat takes place at a time of the defending Company's choosing, The attacking Faction must breach the Gates of the Fort to capture the defending Faction's Claim over the Territory. Attacking and defending forces can use Battle Tokens to acquire Siege Platforms to aid in the battle and traps to hold get the upper hand on their enemies.
That's all you need to know in order to reserve a spot in the beta and whether or not your system can run the game. This is your last chance to experience before the full New World release, so make sure you get in before the beta ends on August 2nd.
