NBA 2K22 has brought with it the series' renowned sense of basketball realism. With that comes a continuation of last year's challenging but highly rewarding shooting system. Shooting in NBA 2K MT can be a frustrating experience for many players, but there are a few things you can do to improve your efficiency, increase your Hot Zones, and bank those long-range threes.
Trust me when I say that I've been through exactly what you're going through right now. My wife and two-year-old were awakened by my profanity the other night, just hours after NBA 2K MT was released. I was so frustrated with the game at the time that I used profanity to express myself. I'm not joking when I say that I may or may not have abused my MyPlayer's mother, and I did so in Italian, no less.
As a result, you're not by yourself. Early on, I became depressed. I'm talking about 2-of-30 ice cold. In maybe 5 minutes of game time. I was so enraged that I threw up shots out of resentment."If I shoot enough, maybe I'll get hot at some point."I have enough experience in NBA 2K to know that this is the most illogical philosophy you could ever bring into the game. However, frustration and anger cause you to act irrationally. I acted irrationally and refused to accept the philosophies of basketball, and MT NBA 2K22 punished me as a result.
I took a 24 hour break from playing. I took some time to reflect, calm down, and conduct my research. I took my time, appreciated the strong (if outrageously over-powered) AI defense, and concentrated on playing good offense. All of a sudden, it all came together for me. I'm not quite a splash, bro. Just not quite there yet, but I'm getting close. Here are some NBA 2K22 shooting pointers to get you started.

Possessing the appropriate physical structure
The MyPlayer Builder is far more complex and comprehensive than most people realize. The type of player you end up with, the NBA player they shadow, and the archetypes associated with their profile will all play a role in determining your offensive effectiveness.
There will be a slew of YouTubers and professional NBA 2K players telling you that none of this matters, but for those who play NBA 2K for a short period of time at launch and then stop, the weighting of these factors has a far greater impact on your shooting performance.
First and foremost, your player must have Stamina of 95 or higher. This should be the very first characteristic you aim for. If your stamina is low, it will have an impact on your shooting.
Second, get those mid-range and three-point shot attributes to an 85 or higher. After that, take a look at the finishing attributes:I believe that Close Shot is an important attribute to have at 85+, and your Standing and Driving Dunk attributes are all going to be influenced by your Speed, Speed with the Ball, and Strength, which are all attributes you should work on as well.
If you are unable to achieve 70+ with a majority of these attributes, you will need to experiment with your player's height, weight, and wingspan until you do. The characteristics listed above will assist you in making more shots, banking shots in traffic, and moving up and down the court quickly, all without depleting your stamina. Attempting a shot with low stamina while also being covered by a defense will have a negative impact on your effectiveness.
I strongly recommend starting with my myteam points 2k22 Kobe Bryant build because I believe it has a good range of Shooting and Finishing badges available, as well as solid Defense/Rebounding badges, which will help you on the boards and set you up with quick transition and more VC/Teammate chemistry.

Choosing the Correct Badges
Badges in https://www.utplay.com/nba-2k22-mt play just as important a role in your MyPlayer creation as they have in previous NBA 2K games. They will provide significant advantages to your player in key areas of fundamental play, and they will have a significant impact on your shooting efficiency.
To begin, review my Shooting Badges Unlock Guide, which details the minimum required attribute rating for a skill in order to be able to use the corresponding badge, as well as any height or weight requirements that may be required.
If you follow my approach and gameplay, you should be able to earn three badges that I believe are essential for improving your shooting. The badges in question are as follows:
Shooter with a high volume of targets Catch and shoot corner specialist

These three badges will give you an advantage the more shots you take, increase your efficiency when shooting immediately after receiving a pass, and also increase your efficiency when shooting from the corner three.
You can mix and match as many badges as you want, but I recommend starting with these because they work well together and can help you formulate a successful shooting strategy during games.

Fundamentals of the game's play
First and foremost, modify the color of the shot meter in the game's gameplay settings. This is set to "white" by default, which makes identifying the color cue to perfect your timing more difficult because the meter's fill is yellow. I changed it to red, which means I now have a clearer indication of when I should time my shot to perfection.
Also, try to set screens as far away from the ball as possible, and then roll off the screen into space as often as possible. When I do this, I typically take the ball up court, pass it to a team at the top of the key or in the corner, set a screen, roll off into the corner, and bank the shot.
